Tabitha Hope - Artist/ Graphic Designer

Tabitha Hope Sydney's latest genius when it comes to her many skills of being a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Painter, Fibre Artist & Live Scribe. I mean what can she not do? We’re lucky enough to have Tab as a great friend and we spontaneously decided to paint our big window with big warped blue checks and I think it was the best decision we made! It represents the wrapping feeling we’ve all felt but the checks have continuous play inside RAINBOW STUDIOS.. You'll soon be able to find out for yourself!

Since we met, only a year or so ago, we have been sharing our love for designs and creating ideas on how we can show off Tab’s talent, the first was the window display then came the famous pouf that she repurposed for us. Tab designed the symbols and elements using our colour palette from our infamous front desk. So she now takes pride of place in the front of the store for all passers by to adore.

We asked Tab a few questions recently, so you can all get to know her a little better...

1. Your work and designs are so unique, how did you first get into Art/Design?

"I took my time to find Art. I was a dancer as a kid and found that to be my creative outlet. I moved to Sydney at 21 and worked in a Graphic Design studio with the most creative, generous souls. Even though I was an Account Manager, the Art Director noticed my creativity and sparked a love for design. The rest is history."

2. What do you love most about Australia and our land?

"Having been away for the last 11 years it has been wonderful to return to the sun and the sea. It is funny what you miss when you’re gone, I missed the birds. They are so chatty and unique to Australia."

3. What was it that appealed to you about working with us here at RAINBOW STUDIOS?

It has been an absolute honour to work with Rainbow Studios so far. This beautiful blue building, bright and inviting, full of handmade, thoughtful, unique and stunning pieces from artist all over the world… what is not to love?

4. What do you love most about your work?

"After spending so many years in front of a computer, staring at a screen, I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to stand up, move around and make a tangible product. I also love to the idea of being welcomed into people’s space – bringing texture and colour."

5. Who is your biggest creative inspiration?

"My all-time favourite is Hilma af Klint. She was a visionary, so ahead of her time, bold & colourful. I take a lot of references from her pallets – Oranges, pinks, yellows, light blues. We see a long and fruitful partnership with Tab and her creations. We are so excited to see what else we can do to collaborate together and to create amazing things for you all to enjoy."
