The original frame carries traces of another design era, while its new surface is built from remnants of contemporary industry.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWorking in partnership with one of Australia’s leading commercial upholstery suppliers, Instyle, local upholstery artisans and reuse co-ops, the artists curated a selection of discontinued leather samples and industry offcuts that may otherwise have gone to waste. Each fragment bears its own markings, patina and irregularities, small traces of where the material has been and what it once was.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCut by hand into fine strips and meticulously applied to the chair, the leather forms a richly tactile, almost shaggy surface that sits somewhere between furniture, textile, and functional art.
