'Vintage Brass Angelfish' by Harper Fredericks

31 cm W × 12 cm D × 57 cm H

Made for Frederick Cooper in the mid twentieth century this angelfish combines cast brass fins with a carved timber body mounted on a timber base. Designed in the period when Cooper studios produced some of their most expressive decor the figure carries the measured charm of mid century American craft. Built as an object of display it stands with lift and movement suggesting water without imitation. An object that adds rhythm to a shelf console or study a gentle note of personality shaped for atmosphere.
