ARTIST IN RESIDENCE | KUBI VASAK Solo Exhibition ‘Bloom Tall'
Thursday 18th May. We celebrated the opening night of Kubi Vasak’s Solo Exhibition ‘BloomTall’.
Welcoming many new faces into the showroom and some very happy customers purchasing their first Kubi piece or adding to their current collection. The energy was high and the sound of 60’s french music filled the room while our guests sipped on Four Pillars Gin and Dayz and Day pet nat wines while viewing the beautiful collection of works. Kubi, we adore the 'Bloom Tall' collection. Can you tell us your favourite things about this collection and why?
First and foremost I love the plants in every work. Secondly, I love the colour combinations. The pairing of images and specific colours are important in the emotional response to the work. I also love those little happy accidents or little bits that don't quite make sense in each work. It's all part of the process.
What has this exhibition meant to you?
It's great to finally show these works after starting the collection in 2020. It's also great to see the positive reaction and love that the exhibition has received so far. It's all very positive.
What has inspired you most about working on 'Bloom Tall'?
I'd have to say my wife, Cherry and her love of plants. We have so many plants at home and when I started making the work, I really enjoyed taking care of them during covid and learning about each plant, it was very therapeutic.
What have you liked most about working with RS?
It's been great. Jade and Goldie are super supportive and they hustle. I look forward to working with them on future projects.
