Papou’s art is an immersive exploration of her Greek and Native American heritage, blending bold colours and dynamic forms to tell her story. Her compositions often feature herself intertwined with the wildlife of Florida, offering powerful symbolism through recurring characters: a seagull representing presence, an alligator symbolizing madness, and a chicken as the inner voice. These recurring symbols invite viewers to engage with their own inner child, providing a window into the self.
