Cast Brass, rumble polished and unlacquered.  

Designed, cast and finished by hand in Sydney. 

Drawing from the memory of playing in tidal pools as a child at Wategos beach, this bowl has been designed and made exclusively for Rainbow Studios.  Referencing ripples in the sand caused by the tide, this bowl can be set in either orientatoin, as a catchall bowl for keys, coins or pocket snacks, or as a delicate plinth for a ring or treasured necklace.  With a living rumbled finish, this will age over time and the finish will hold traces of being held and touched.

ABOUT ASHLEY CORBETT 

Ashley Corbett-Smith is an industrial designer based in Sydney Australia working across product, furniture and lighting design.Approaching projects within a reductionist framework, his aim is to understand each of the elements at its most basic. 

As a result of designing and producing bespoke pieces for more than a decade, this has led to a deep understanding of the design constraints and nuance within a multitude of materials, furthered by experimentation and play to create enduring objects with character. Functional or not, it should be a little fun.
