‘RAINBOW ON THE ROAD’ is RAINBOW STUDIOS' touring pop-up exhibition series, born from a belief that contemporary art shouldn't stay in one place. The vision is simple: bring together artists and communities across the country, moving the showcase experience to new cities, new spaces, and new audiences.

We took RAINBOW STUDIOS on the road, and Byron Bay showed up.

The first stop landed in Byron with 'I Heart' — a solo exhibition by Melbourne duo Gelbell. It was our first time bringing the RAINBOW STUDIOS experience outside of Sydney, and if there was any question about whether a new community would connect with what we do, that question was answered quickly.

The space filled with people who were genuinely there for the work. Bold, bright, and impossible to look away from, the works sat perfectly against the grey concrete walls, giving the art a new dimension than once on our white Sydney walls. 

Cinco Tequila joined us as a proud sponsor, serving margaritas made with fresh lime that kept the evening moving. It's the kind of detail that sounds small but sets a tone: generous, unpretentious, a little bit celebratory.

The response exceeded what we'd hoped for. New faces, real conversations, and a community that came ready to engage.
